After some thoughtful intervention, (the 7 BIG EAST basketball schools). Seems like some of the (football) schools that are (maybe) headed to the BIG EAST are giving some more thought to that idea. That it may be in their best interest to kind of stay where they are. If only because it maybe safe to do so.
Now, the Mountain West is conducting conversations with Boise St to stay with them. And that it is no ill feelings that wanted to leave. Just us another chance to make this a better conference. Now here's kicker. The fact that the BIG EAST is now most likely to lose their AQ status for the new BCS Playoff process which begins in 2014. Could very well be a key to a lot of changing and re-changing. Going cross country for one game a week wouldn't be problem, because it's football. That's why the changes were making sense. Yes chasing the football money. Now when the Mountain West and Boise St make amends. That's going to leave some scrambling by the football schools that are left to make some hard decisions. About whether it was all worth it to go seeking BCS play off and money status else where.
Now, getting back to the the 7 basketball schools, we know why they are leaving. It's because they have become non-relevant in a football world. And it is there way of letting the football schools that are in the now the BIG EAST. That they are reason the you have all of this. And to be pushed a side for football, they aren't having it.
Too bad it had to come to this. But, the world is changing. sometimes for the good and sometimes for the bad. Hopefully the 7 basketball schools will be able to make ago at this change, without too much financial repercussions. Raiding another conference for basketball dominant schools. And getting basketball AQ approval from the NCAA Mens and Womens Basketball Championship Committee.
