Is Hosting all that Matters, or is it the Bracket Match up

After the fire and brimstone social media chatter on yesterday when the 16 2014 Men's CWS regional host were announced. Then the thought pattern should have been, ok, we're in this thing let's pick it up and go win it. No matter where we've got to go. Because it ends in Omaha. But no some fans were discontent about not getting to host games this weekend. Hell, hosting doesn't mean you've got an inside track to Omaha. Hell, it doesn't even mean you've got an advantage of winning. Seed's have lost their regional bracket's before. Heck even a National seed has gone down before, things happen. Hosting means your fans don't have to travel a convenience and that's all. And I hope fans get that this coming weekend. And that will be the attitude come this weekend when 64 Div 1 baseball programs give their all to get to Omaha.
Two Texas teams will host Regionals this week end, Rice and TCU. TCU was also granted a #7 National seed, a 1st for the program. Dallas Baptist and Sam Houston State travel to TCU, Fort Worth Regional. Texas and Texas A&M come to Rice for the Houston Regional. Houston heads over to LSU, Baton Rouge Regional. Texas Tech will travel to Miami, Coral Gables Regional. With that, the state of Texas will have 8 teams with a shot at getting to Omaha.
And the 2014 Men's WCWS bracket is out. Now the match ups. Which regional brings about an AHA moment. Houston Regional>Rice, Texas, Texas A&M, George Mason. Fort Worth>TCU, Dallas Baptist, Sam Houston State, Siena. Baton Rouge>LSU, Houston, Bryant, Southeastern La. Coral Gables>Miami, Texas Tech, Columbia, Bethune-Cookman. Follow your team.

Enjoy the rest of this Memorial Day.
